TROY, Ohio (WDTN) – After the snow we got overnight, it seems like a perfect day to relax, but it’s far from a welcome sight for businesses seeking customers.
Usually Sundays are a moneymaker for restaurants, but servers in Troy at Lincoln Square say when it snows, they don’t make much money at all.
“The next four hours or going to feel like 12″ said Cassi Carranza, Lincoln Square server.
For servers like Carranza, an empty restaurant means counting down the clock.
“We have one person sitting at the counter right now we have one and another person sitting at a table it’s pretty empty. We have 23 tables here in our counter seats and there’s only two people. Looks like it’s going to be like that all night” said Carranza.
Down the street, Waffle House sits empty too, dealing with the lack of business because of the snow
“You’ll find yourself cleaning things that really don’t need to be cleaned. Sometimes even twice” said Thomas McQueary, Waffle house grill operator.
If you do go out to eat tonight, servers ask that you tip a little extra because snow days are slow.
