Can you believe during the Fairborn Ohio Fourth of July fireworks display in the activities that were taking place that Community Park East the high school marching band boosters I guess you'd call him are actually charging four dollars to park in the high school parking lot. I just think how unethical this is and I'm not even sure if this is even legal. Fairborn Ohio schools really suck and this is this another way for them to scam people and take people's hard-earned money. Fairborn Ohio school got to be ashamed of yourself again for charging people to park in high school parking lot.

Community Park Eask Fairborn Ohio June 15, 2014

Good morning. It's a beautiful day here in Fairborn, Ohio. I was a Community Park East Park this morning off the Dayton yellow Springs Road and took a couple pictures that I thought you might enjoy. This park has been one of my favorites of all time. I find if you go all the way back to the end of the park by the lake this is a most peaceful spot that you can find.

Community Park East is one of the biggest parks in Fairborn and actually the Greene County area. If you get a chance want you come out and explore this beautiful park and enjoy it as I have for years.

The Wilsons have been living in their Fairborn home for more than 20 years. They decided to make a change after a summer drought and a high water bill.

Donna Wilson says, “One summer our water bill was $125 with trash, but that’s still a lot.”

Donna and her husband, Andrew, decided a rain barrel would be ideal to capture rainwater from the roof to water their vegetable garden.

They have one large barrel they purchased from a local hardware store and four other 55 gallon drums they received after attending a rain barrel workshop through Greene County and the City of Fairborn.

The fate of two Troy men who went missing on an Ohio River canoe trip has renewed attention on water safety as the warm weather recreation season begins.

The search for the two missing men had agencies in Ohio and Kentucky searching the river and riverbanks Monday. The search, underway since Sunday, involved two ODNR watercraft law enforcement boats, an Ohio State Highway Patrol helicopter and a Brown County Emergency Response Team as well as relatives and friends of the two men.

Vectren has begun replacing gas mains and service lines throughout western Ohio as part of a multi-year program.

The company says it plans to replace about 725 miles of pipeline in more than 40 cities. In 2014, Vectren expects to work on about 57 miles of pipes in Arcanum, Bellefontaine, Covington, Dayton, Fairborn, Greenfield, Greenville, Kettering, Miamisburg, Oakwood, Piqua, Sidney, Tipp City, Troy and Xenia. It will be a $35 million investment.

“To ensure the continued reliability of our natural gas pipeline systems and service, Vectren has undertaken a program to replace essentially all of our bare steel and cast iron pipeline infrastructure in our Ohio service territory,” said Colleen Ryan, president of Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio. “These infrastructure enhancements are vital to meeting federal requirements and ensuring the continued safety of our system for decades to come.”

Furniture/Today has named a bedding specialty store and two bedding-oriented furniture stores as Retail Giants of Bedding for 2014.

The Retail Giants are Bedding Plus, a Hammond, La.-based sleep shop chain, Swansea, Mass.-based Cardi’s Furniture and Fairborn, Ohio-based Morris Furniture. They will be honored at an awards dinner May 15 at the Furniture/Today Bedding Conference at the Omni Orlando Resort in Florida.

“The mattress business remains a highly competitive one, but these three retailers have found ways to stand out by educating their customers, providing great service, and remaining highly focused on the mattress category,” said David Perry, mattress writer for Furniture/Today, the organizer of the Bedding Conference.
