Kids celebrate Dr. Seuss by reading his books

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Kids at Dayton Children’s Hospital celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday by reading some his famous books.

It’s part of Read Across America Day.

The Beavercreek Lions Club and Project Read helped with the event, donating more than 150 books.

Mary Steele with the Beavercreek Lions Club says, “There’s nothing like a smiling face on a child and that’s self-rewarding. And that’s what we want to do with these children.”

“What we do is we like to put books in the hands of families. We believe that if families are reading together, it builds a stronger family unit,” said Amy Whitman with Project Read.
