Fairborn Ohio

Urban Exploration: Abandoned Cement Plant-Price Bros. Cement, Fairborn Ohio

UPDATE: It turns out that this was not a Cemex, but a Price Brothers Cement plant. The property was owned by Cemex for a while after the place was abandoned. Also turns out it's haunted, which explains some of the strange sounds I heard. Most people driving past Fairborn have seen this big abandoned cement plant from the highway. I have wanted to explore the place for a long time and i finally did this week. It was a risky one as I had to crawl under a fence to get to it, and there were countless "NO TRESPASSING VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED" signs. Also a company still periodically uses the empty lot for storage, and occasionally drives by to drop stuff off, so the whole time I was pretty on edge. Despite all this, it appears that kids get in here to mess around all the time. The plant used to be a Price Brothers Cement Manufacturing plant. the plant has been closed since 1993 and now just sits in the field decaying. A second, larger, cement plant sits in downtown Fairborn, however it was being renovated when I was there and I hear they now have alarms on the property and I didn't want to mess with that. The big plant is going to become the new Calamityville disaster training center.
